Digital Day Planner Pages

I always need something in front of me that says THIS IS DUE TODAY and I am tired of just little post it notes because obviously that system has it's flaws. So today I used Jessica Sprague's Echos of Asia kit downloaded from Creating Keepsakes to make up some cute little day planner pages with the kids on them.

What do you think? Am I getting any better at this digital stuff?

Little cards

Cynthia over at ScrapAddicts made the cutest little cards for all of her co-workers and I loved them so much I had to make some little cards myself. I made up a set of "thinking of you" cards for my friend Jeanine at IDOS. I thought they would be great for putting in lunch pails and brief cases.

Thanks for the inspiration!

Day 1 of Lent is over

39 left to go.

I gave up sweets and unhealthy snacks for Lent. It is a difficult thing for me to give up and I am really hoping that if I can get through 40 days of it, that it will become a habit and I will be making a good lifestyle change. I just eat way too much crap ((for lack of a better word)).

So 1 day down, it wasn't too bad. Afternoons are the worst, I just needed to find something else to do other than put food in my mouth so I called a friend and talked all afternoon. Much more productive than eating chips with nacho cheese dip.

Bored can you tell.

I haven't got much to say except I have a cold so I have been trying to stay away from the kids so they don't catch it. Nothing worse than sick kids. I figure 1 day of being a bad mommy is much better than 2 sick little boys.

I have been hanging out and trying to rest but I was bored today so I played with blogger. Still can't figure out how to put a cool picture in my header but I did make a slide show. :)

Hope you don't catch my cold!! I promise I washed this blog down with Lysol!

Looky what I found.

This is so much fun!! Make your own at the Card Catalog Generator. These would be fun to print out and use on layouts. Might have to try that.

Nothing much to say.

The weather is nasty. We are getting more snow. And as much as I love snow I hate that it is SO windy outside that I can't go out and play. And all of the snow that we have had this year has been super duper dry so it isn't even fun snow where you can go out and make a snowman or fort or even snowballs.

When is spring again?

So I will leave you with just some recent layouts.

My Wintery Self Portrait

Took this picture of myself the day we took the boys sledding. I did it right before I rode down the big hill. Thought it might be my last picture!! The paper and flowers from this layout are from the Black is a Happy Color kit from ScrapAddict.com. I took and cut out some snowflakes on my Wishblade and used them as a mask with some light blue paint to make the snowflakes and then used some Stickles in the open space to make them sparkle a little. Man I really love sparkly things!!

Omaha or BUST

Well lets just say Omaha was a BUST! We didn't even stay overnight, we drove right back home. Hubby had a doctor appointment at Offut AFB and since part of it was an eye exam and they were going to dilate his eyes we all packed up in the family truckster and rode along. The kids and I watched movies in the truck (and I finished a scarf for Darren) in the backseat while he was at his appointment. Much easier than trying to keep 2 kids entertained in a hospital while he is there. He got done at noon which I was disappointed because it took them forever and so I was worried we wouldn't have enough time to do the Children's Museum since they closed at 5pm.

We got to the Museum at 1pm and luckily they gave us 1/2 price admission for being military because I would have been really upset if we had paid all that money for that. I guess I got spoiled taking them to the one in Indianapolis last year (that museum was AWESOME). We finished this one in 45 minutes and that was going back and forth to the exhibits a couple of times. They had 2 huge areas of the museum closed for renovation and another exhibit was just a table that kids could do crafts at. There wasn't anyone there at the crafts table to help out and they didn't have any supplies except some 1/2 colored on sheets of copy paper and scissors. Their traveling exhibit was Sesame Street and you weren't allowed to take flash pictures in the exhibit (what is up with that!!!). So basically at 2pm the kids were starting to get tired and I looked at hubby and said "Let's just drive back home." And he agreed. We were thinking about coming back to go to the zoo when it is warmer but really I think we will save the money and go visit Chicago with the kids before we move because I know the museums there are fabulous!!

Say a little prayer for IDOS

It has been down now since the 21st or 22nd of December and Yahoo is no closer to figuring out what is wrong from the sounds of it. But one of our members made up some kits for the DT to use for January's challenge and I wanted to share it. The Paper Salon papers are so yummy!! I would have had it done sooner had I not redid the title 5 different times. I just couldn't get it to look like what I pictured in my head. And for ShadeyJ, I used some Stickles for my letters in my title!! I just LOVE me some Stickles!!

Thanks LubeQueen for the great kit!! :)
