It's been a beautiful couple of days in our neighborhood and we went out with some friends to take more pictures in the blue bonnets. I loved the cactuses and wanted to get a couple of pictures with the boys near them!!

Soccer Saturday

Ian had another soccer game this weekend and he played really hard out there!!

3 Layouts

I got three more layouts done using the Quilting Bee kit.

This one is using sketch #115 from Sketch Inspirations. ScrapAttack Scrapbooking was their sponsor so I was trying to support 2 different sites at once. :)
I added to the kit a Making Memories label holder and an old bottle cap and a few buttons from my stash. I also used a bunch of punches like the Stampin Up scalloped oval and oval punches, Stampin Up hearts and a little folksy heart punch. I also added some old rick rack from my stash too.

Here is Ian graduating from preschool. I was so proud of how well he did in preschool, he was definitely ready for kindergarten the next year, his teachers were so good!!

I used the Studio Calico Sunday Sketch from March 21st as my inspiration for this layout. It is a stretch but I was liking the squares.
I added some Basic Grey letter stickers and a Making Memories metal school embellishment along with some felt stars and other random stuff from my stash. I used the Stampin Up scallop square and Creative Memories square punches for the little green squares.

This last layout is for the ScrapAttack Scrapbooking Italy challenge from their Scrap Around the World challenge for the week. I had to use a strip of photos that leaned like the leaning tower of Pisa and clusters of round embellishments like grapes. I used sketch #116 from Sketch Inspiration.
I spritzed the wood from the kit with some Smooch Spritz and added to the kit lots of little random embellishments including a Sassafrass journaling card and October Afternoon letter stickers.

You can pick everything BUT the Blue Bonnets!!

So we were out on the street corner again today taking pictures. The light wasn't good because I got lots of squinty pictures and the wind was really blowing too and my automatic focus was freaking out trying to find something to focus on. But it is good practice, I need to keep doing it and eventually it will come naturally. I have to say right now, it is anything but natural. I would not take good pictures of running babies or puppies right now on manual because I can't think that fast.

But the boys were playing in the flowers and it was kind of cute to listen to them talk about not picking the blue bonnets because it is illegal down here to pick them (I don't know why really because they grow like weeds in the ditches and stuff). But they are pretty mixed in with the yellow wild flowers.

I loved these pictures of Ian with his Star Wars shirt on and picking flowers. See tough guys can have a softer side. LOL!

At one point they were picking these "flowers" (aka weeds) and they were pulling them up from the roots and Evan was walking around with like an entire bush which for some reason I just found funny! He kept telling me we could take it home and plant it!

Nah, I think we will let the pretty flowering weeds stay here, Mommy has enough weeds of her own at home. Although mine aren't quite as pretty and have lots of thistly thorns on them.

More Pics in the Blue Bonnets

After school was out we took the big kids out to the blue bonnets and got some pictures of them too.

Here are the boys together in the flowers. You would never guess that I am shooting towards a road would you!!

Ian with his big blue eyes are so sensitive to light so we turned around so the sun was to his back and then I got some better pictures without him squinting so much.

Blue Bonnet Pictures

Well I took out the camera again to try to get some pictures of Evan with the blue bonnets down the street from us. I am liking playing with my new lens and trying to get the focus down just right. I need more practice though but these turned out pretty good!

Don't ask what is up with that face, I think I actually caught him while talking but he really looks like he is holding his breathe.
You should always stop and smell the flowers.
His little friend Kimberlee came along for some picture taking fun.

It is cool outside and he kept playing with is ears because they were cold.
That's the look I am used to.
I like this one, wish his face was just a tad bit better in focus.
Evan was allowed to pick the buttercups or whatever those little yellow flowers were.
