Happy Halloween

This year I have an army surgeon and a Lego police officer.  Both with goofy teeth suckers, relaxing after school before we head out trick or treating!

Happy Halloween!!

Rocket Men!!!

We took the boys out to shoot off model rockets with the Northern Virginia Association of Rocketry.  We got to see some high powered rockets that people were shooting off to get their level one certifications and we also stayed after the sun set and watched them shoot off rockets with lots of lights.

The boys were extra excited because they even got to go to the "control center" and push the button to shoot off their rockets!

Basketball

Ian's trying something new and trying out basketball this winter.  We had our first practice last Thursday and he needs some work but I think he will have fun with his friends!

Now I should go brush up on my basketball knowledge so I know what is going on!!

Great Falls Park

Ian's fifth grade class went on a field trip to Great Falls Park.  We hiked around the falls with a ranger as our tour guide and learned about the falls and canals that were built in that area.  It was so pretty!

Worldwide Photo Walk

I took part in Scott Kelby's WorldWide Photo Walk Day this year.  I met up with my group at 6AM outside the Museum of the American Indian and we wandered around with our leader near the Capital Building.  It was really neat meeting up before the sun rose and getting to practice taking pictures in the dark.  Things really clicked for me sitting there with my tripod and I was impressed with how good my shots turned out with a low ISO in the dark.  Here are a few of my favorites from the morning.

LOAD #2 & #3

Got a little behind but I'm working on catching back up.

The first one uses the Studio Calico kit Elmwood Park from July 2012.  Yes, I actually broke open a new kit.
This second one is just a bunch of random stuff from my desk that have been piling up and I thought all kind of looked good together!

House Tour - Part 2

Today I want to show you the boys bedroom and toy room.  They are up the stairs from the living room.  Luckily the boys still share a room so we can use the extra bedroom for a toy room.

First the boys room.
From their door.
From the window.
And next door to them is their toy room.
From the door.
From the opposite corner of the room.
Other side of the room.
And yes, their toy room isn't normally this clean but once a week I get them to pick up the floor so I can vacuum!

LOAD October Edition

So my friend Kim has talked me into a LOAD (LayOut A Day) challenge for the month of October!  Today is October 1st and I've already got my first layout done!  YAY!!  It uses a bunch of scraps on my table.  I have finished off two kits and some extras now in my Kit-tastic class and I am ready to break open Kit #3!

And just so I don't get accused of cheating here are the last two layouts that I did in September for my Kit-tastic class.  These both use the Studio Calico Handmade Kit.
