Last friday we went up to school and me the boys' teachers and found their classrooms. They both got new teachers this year and I think they are going to like them a lot.
Evan is a Perez Piggy this year. He loves the fun behavior chart she has, instead of plain old stoplight where you try to keep your name in the green all the kids have piggies and they have to try to keep their pig in the barn and not get "lost in the meadow" or "stuck in the muck"! He has a couple of kids in his class from last year but I'm not worried, I'm sure he will make all kinds of new friends quickly!
Ian is in fourth grade this year and his teacher is Mrs. Rowell. I love some of the ideas she has for the kids and I can't wait to see them happen! He has a huge class this year and I hope they get a third fourth grade teacher but at the same time I don't want him to have to change teachers either.
And this morning it was the first day of school. We took the normal yearly picture in front of the door showing how many fingers for what grade they are starting!
And then another outside the front of the building. This year the boys are on different sides of the Humphrey's school campus so Ian will be walking to and from school by himself (sigh, he's getting so big).
Ian in line before going in school (yes I still walked over really quick and got a picture of him in line).
Evan with his backpack and lunchbox heading off in the other direction to get to his class.
Evan standing in his line waiting for class to start.
On the first day of school they do a ceremony on the blacktop with all the kids. The garrison commander and principal all say hello and then they ring bells to ring in the new year.
