Lotions

When in the world did the market become so flooded with different types of lotions?

I went to Walmart yesterday to get some because the bottle that I have had for 100 years was finally out and I needed some. Let's just say since I bought that bottle of lotion from the Bath and Body Works store sometime in the year 2000 lotion a lot has changed.

I remember when there was just Vaseline Intestive Care lotion and it came in a yellow bottle. Now there are about 50 types of lotions. They have them that smooth, that firm, that renew, that refresh, that age defy... and the list goes on and on. So I pick up a bottle that heals thinking this is what I need cause my skin has been itch and dry so hence why I was looking for lotion anyway. And then I saw one that exfolliated and refreshed and I started thinking well maybe that is what i need since if I exfolliate then all the dry cells would be gone. And then I saw one that says that it firms and heaven only knows that I could use some firming.

What the heck happened and why in the world can't they just make one miracle lotion that does all of these things and makes me look like Cindy Crawford from the neck down?

Just a lot of randomness.

Is randomness a word or did I make that one up?

DS is loving school. Yesterday he had a little accident at school and was so afraid he wasn't going to get a second green turtle stamp in him folder. But he did and he was fine. It was just one of those things that happens. He isn't shy but in new situations he isn't going to just jump up and do a jig if he needs something either and he just waited a little too long before getting up to ask the other teacher. Anyways he got to meet the school nurse!! LOL!!

I really need to clean off my scrap table and clean out my scrap supplies. I have a friend from Have Your Way With Paper who loves getting my scraps (seriously my scraps since I try not to save them anymore) so I am going to be sending her another big old box. But I need to clean out my embellishments too. Like I have more old Prima paper flowers than one person really needs. Especially someone who doesn't really do flowery layouts. If you have a good idea for using up little Prima flowers or would really like a RAK of some flowers let me know in the comments.

I need a massage. I need it so bad, my shoulders are just tied in knots from stress and I am thinking that I may quite possibly snap if I don't get someone to rub them soon.

I think I have also figured out my scrap slump problem. I have been wanting to redecorate (ok not re just decorate) our new house but we have just don't have the money and hubby is always traveling and it is hard to do. We have lots of little 1/2 started 1/2 finished projects and I hate leaving things undone. I think that is a big part of my problem. You know how I feel about leaving layouts undone so just imagine what my half painted scraproom is doing to me (hence the need for the massage LMAO).

OK I totally have to go and edit some pictures to send my sister. She asked me a couple of weeks ago for some of each of us for on her computer so that my neice can "see" us and get to recognizing us. Sweet!

Trying to work through it.

But this is the best I can come up with.
This layout is based on the 5/14 Ad Challenge at ScrapAddict.com.

And this one was based on Catherine's Monday 3/5/07 Challenge to use the word 'Family' as your title, this challenge also over at ScrapAddict.com.

I know, I will keep working on it.

Scrapbooking Blahs

Lately I feel like everything I create is so so so horrible bad. I feel like I have totally lost touch with my style and I can't seem to remember how to create a layout that looks good. I feel like I have tons of stuff but none of it goes together and I go out shopping for new stuff and nothing out there looks good either.

The last layouts that I did that I liked were layouts that I did with my September assigned kits for the ScrapAddict.com design team. Since I finished off those kits I haven't been able to scrap. :(

Anyone got a good challenge to help me get over the scrapbooking blahs?

8 Facts About Me

Janelle tagged me so I am it!!

The rulz: Each player lists 8 facts/habits about themselves. The rules of the game are posted at the beginning before those facts/habits are listed. At the end of the post, the player then tags 8 people and posts their names, then goes to their blogs and leaves them a comment, letting them know that they have been tagged and asking them to read your blog.

Fact #1 = I am addicted to scrapbooking supplies. It is sad but I even planning scrapbook shopping trips when I travel just to see what other stores have.

Fact #2 = I am too type A, anal retentive, organized to think of myself as artsy even though I really wish I could cut loose and be like those artsy type of peoples. I even have problems putting photos on paper crooked ask my friends - they were all really surprised by this layout. I used an upcoming ScrapAddict.com kit on this one so consider this your sneeky peeky!! :)

Fact #3 = I love the rain, especially hard rains. I love the smell of the rain and I love thunder and lightning.

Fact #4 = I don't think I am a girly girl. I have always been a tomboy. And I am lucky to have had 2 boys instead of girls I think cause I don't know what I would do with girls.

Fact #5 = I am a military wife. Hubby and I met in college and he was in ROTC. In 1995, he got commissioned at 10 am, we graduated at 1 pm, and the following Saturday we got married. Our honeymoon was spent driving to San Antonio with his dad so that he could get to his school in time. I finally got my real honeymoon back in 2000 when he was in Bosnia instead of him coming home for his R&R leave I went to Germany and met him.

Fact #6 = I love to read and watch movies. My favorite movies are Harry Potter, and movies based on books from Jane Austin. I love reading those same books and also one of my favorites lately has been Phillipa Gregory.

Fact #7 = I am a sci fi geek. I love Star Wars and Star Gate and Star Trek. Heck I think if it has the word STAR in the title I have seen it. I also love stuff about outer space, real stuff that you find on like the Discovery Channel. I also have a telescope but have never seen anything cool through it.

Fact #8 = My kids are always hungry and this is not helping with my weight loss issues. It sucks being the fat person in a family of men who's metabolism is through the roof!!

Now to pick some people to tag. I will pick.... (hmmm who didn't Janelle pick)
Debbie
Kim
Felicia
Lacey
Sibylle
Anita
Melanie
Catherine

Check out these ladies blogs. They are some pretty cool women that I love to read.

Dang Banner

Everyone please post how big your screen is so I know how big to make this thing. LOL!! I was trying to make it on the computer downstairs which is hooked up to a 50 inch big screen TV. Well that isn't right because in order to have it spread all the way across I had to make it huge then I came upstairs for something and thought I would check it out and it was all the way off the page. Still tinkering with it but I think I need to bring Photoshop upstairs to this computer. It will be better on my eyes too then trying to read all the little buttons from 8 feet away. :)

And the World's Worst Mommy Award goes to...

ME!! (read on to find out what I did this time)

Swimming lessons are over!!! And I am conflicted...
I am sad cause I know that my oldest really enjoyed going

but...

I am happy cause taking my youngest to water babies was like teaching a cat to swim and I know he wasn't happy with being asked to "blow bubbles" every 20 seconds. And I felt bad being the mom with the kids who cries the entire time.

My oldest passed level 1 but I really don't think he is ready for level 2 cause I know he isn't ready to have lessons in the deeper end of the pool. I think for him we will repeat level 1 again the beginning of the summer and then move onto level 2.

I also feel horrible because I didn't talk to his teachers before taking off after lessons today about how he was doing. Why am I such a bad mom but by the time I thought about it they were off goofing around with their friends in the deep end of the pool and I was just ready to leave.

So now I am feeling like world's worst mom!!
