And the answer is = about 1/2 a cup.

What's the question you ask? Well let's start from the beginning, that would be about 7am this morning. I promised the boys that we would go to the lake today with their friend Phillip after school (let me say again AFTER school). Well at 7am Evan was wearing his life vest around the house wanting to know when we were going.

We made it through the day and finally AFTER school we went to the lake. Evan was so excited, until he got down to the water and got sand in his cute new beach shoes. He ended up sifting up about 1/2 a cup of sand (that's where the question comes in -- how much sand can little size 11 shoes hold with little feet in them?). Evan was not impressed with the murky water, he didn't want to get in, he didn't want to get dirty, he didn't want his shoes to get dirty. All this after spending the day wanting to go to the lake. I finally got him to go into the water while I held him and he liked it but he didn't want to put his feet in the dirt, and I have to admit I wouldn't have wanted to do it either without having my shoes on because it was very silty and slippery feeling. Oh yeah, he would only go into the water withOUT his shoes on.

Ian on the other hand had a GRAND time, him and Phillip were wandering around in the water and eventually Ian was following Phillip out into the deeper water. He could still touch but he was out there quite a way. At one point he lost his boat, it drifted out towards the rope which Ian couldn't reach the ground at so Jasenka had to jump in and swim out and get it for him but it was so cute because he was trying to swim out to get it but with his life vest on he would push off and get where he couldn't touch and the waves that were coming in from boats out in the lake would push him right back to where he could touch. He wanted to go in the deeper water but couldn't.

After planning for almost 2 hours, we had dinner at Burger King and played in the play area and then finally came home. Definitely something we will have to do again this summer!!!

I got bling on my ring!!

I got this plain clear dome ring in with my order from ScrapSupply.com. It was really cute, I kind of liked it plain but they are having a contest to win a gift certificate and what can I say, I can always use more scrapbooking supplies so I blinged out my ring. The contest ends June 1st for their 4 year anniversary and they will pick a winner!! Wish me luck!!!

That's my Evan. I told him we were going to play at their friend's house in his pool. So of course he ran to find the goggles that have been passed down to him since Ian got new ones. Little did he know there would only be 5 inches of water in the little pool and he is still afraid to stick his face in the water but at least he likes to wear the goggles right?

Mini Olympics

Today Ian's gymnastics place had their spring program called Mini Olympics. Ian participated in 6 different events.

1. Vault
2. Hi Bar
3. Parallel Bars
4. Pommel Horse
5. Rings
6. Floor

For each event their coach ranked them on what they should be able to do at their level so they competed against themselves for ribbons. Ian ended up with blue (1st place) ribbons in Parallel Bars and Pommel Horse, red (2nd place) ribbons in Vault, Hi Bar and rings and a white (3rd place) ribbbon for floor. His normal coach Coach Jeffrey wasn't there today and I think not having him there to help him out really threw Ian for a loop because he was just kind of out of sorts through the whole thing and I felt so bad for him. But I was proud of how well he tried everything. I thought for sure he wouldn't dare go up on the rings since they used the REAL rings high up in the air but he did. He also fell off the trampoline and I was called over to check out the bump on his head (you know the one he has had since birth) but alls well that ends well. He ended up being very proud of his ribbons (I think he was surprised when he got them because he got this HUGE smile on his face when he saw them) and he loved his medal.

I got a new camera lens...

and today I got to play with it outside since it was sunny and the kids wanted to play out there.

I got a Canon EF 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM. It is really nice, heavier than my other lenses and way more expensive. But it was my anniversary present from hubby and what can I say, he loves me!!

I took this one inside this morning of the boys together, when I was just putting it on the camera and checking it out.

Kindergarten Field Day

Today at Ian's school the Kindergarteners had their Field Day out on the playground. As far as I got from Ian they

• blew bubbles
• picked up marbles with their bare feet out of a pool
• played in the sand
• played volleyball
• had sack races
• fished and got a prize pack
• got tattoos
• hula hooped
• drank out of big Gatorade tank (?? not sure what that was all about)
• limbo'ed
• had popsicles
• and I am sure there was more that I missed or have forgotten already.

Luckily I had some friends there helping out and they sent me some pictures of Ian. Thanks guys!!

LIVE & on the big screen

It's Evan and Kimberlee!!!! I have found that these two little ones love seeing themselves on tv and today I realized that I could let them see themselves WHILE they are dancing to the show they like to watch. In this case it is HI-5!!! Yes we are big dorks at my house and have the computer hooked up to the big screen tv and can play with all the fun computer stuff from the comfort of the couch!!

Wishblade + Vista = Harmony

Finally, I got a software program that works with my old blue Wishblade and with Vista. So in honor of getting it all working I actually scrapped and cut something out on it! I made the circle file and the stuff under it too and cut it out on my Wishblade and used some pop dots (one of my favorite things) to give it some dimension. This software makes it so easy to create your own files, I don't know why they didn't come out with it first instead of making me learn how to use that old stupid Wishblade software that didn't really do anything!!

Tie Day

At school this week they are celebrating Children's Book Week and Tuesday was wear a tie day so Ian wore one of Darren's bow ties (since mommy doesn't know how to tie a tie).
