I've been tagged!!!

by Lacey.

List seven songs you are into right now. No matter what the genre, whether or not they have words, or even if they’re not any good, but they must be songs you’re really enjoying now. Post these instructions in your LiveJournal/blog along with your seven songs. Then tag seven other people to see what they’re listening to.

OK so here is my list of 7 songs. Don't laugh, I know they totally probably don't go together but that is how I like things.

1. Here it Goes Again by OK GO -- I could totally watch the video over and over and over
2. Swing by Trace Adkins -- his voice makes me melt inside
3. Call me when you are Sober by Evanescence -- if I could sing I would hope it would be like her
4. some silly cadence that DHubby has on his iPod that recently my oldest has learned all the words -- silly that he can't quite spell his own name yet but can spell AIRBORNE!!
5. Under Pressure by David Bowie and Queen -- seriously Freddie Mercury and David Bowie should have collaborated on many more songs, I love the blend of their voices
6. Take Your Mama by Scissor Sisters -- I love this Elton Johnish style of music
7. Don't cha by the Pussycat Dolls -- I love how this song makes me walk when I listen to it!!

Now to tag 7 people, do I even know 7 people who weren't already tagged?

1. KatieJ
2. Toni
3. Erin
4. Jen
5. Laura
6. Monica
7. Pixleyyy

One of my good finds last weekend.

We went out looking for an apple orchard to PICK apples but didn't find one so instead we headed into this tiny town of Gilbert to look for a steak house we found advertised on the side of the road. They weren't open for lunch but we stopped in a cute little shop and I found a new scrapbooking chair for $38. It needs to be stripped and refinished but I can do that. It is so comfy too!!

I also got another one similar to this one without arms and a drop leaf table too. Have to get pictures of the others still.

Mouse Potatoes

I got my oldest a new kids cookbook last week and we had to try out his favorite recipe. It was for Mouse Potatoes.

They are actually twice baked potatoes with cheese in them and then they have chives for whiskers, scallion tail, raisin eyes, radish ears and a tomato nose.

They tasted really good, the kids tried them but really aren't big baked potato eaters yet but they ate the faces off them. :)

Gas Prices & Best Friends

Well the price of gas has finally fallen below $2.00 here. We are at $1.97!!! Woo Hoo -- hubby and I already filled both trucks and all the gas cans for the lawn mower and weed eater up last night. On the news this morning they were actually saying as long as we don't have a late season hurricane we could see as low as $1.30 - $1.50 soon. Wouldn't that be nice. Keeping fingers crossed but not holding my breath.

Last night we went to I.'s preschool ice cream social. I have met the mom of one of his friends and all of our kids are the same age so we are planning on some play dates for them which will be fun. Well we were all walking back to our cars and I. is holding onto this little boy's hand and he turns to hubby and I and says "This is my best friend." Bless his heart cause I think it broke hubby's. He feels so bad that the military will be moving us away next year, now that I. is finally settling in and making friends. I know we can keep in touch but at the same time I am still so sad, I love it here.

??Aquired Taste??

So all the research out there right now says to increase your metabolism and lose weight to drink a cup of green tea each day.

Is this an aquired taste or am I doing something wrong because if this is how skinny tastes, I think I will stay my beautiful plus sized self. :)

T-Rex Cafe

Thought you all might like to see some pictures of the new resturant that we went to last weekend while down in Kansas City. It was created by the same guy who created the Rainforest Cafe but this one is all dinosaurs. The boys loved it. There was so much to look at, everything in the place moved or made a noise. Here are some pictures.

upstairs by the bathrooms (HeRex and SheRex rooms), the woolly mammoths in the ice age room. every half hour there would be a meteor storm and the walls up here would turn red instead of blue. really cool!!

over the top of the bar, most of the tentacles moved -- really neat. reminded me of the creature from Pirates of the Caribbean which I saw the day before.

what greated you when you first walked in. kind of scared my oldest until he realized he couldn't actually get him.

more dinosaurs, this room was having a birthday party and all the kids got construction hats to have a dig in the store later. they actually have a room where you could pay $2.50 to go in and dig for fossils in the dirt. might have to do that for a birthday for one of the boys.

Now in the store Build a Bear partnered up with them and they had a build a dino store. Grandma let each of the boys build a dinosaur so now we have another man to add to the sleeping team. :)

Where were you 5 years ago?

Man can you believe that it has been 5 years.

In five years I have been pregnant 3 times and now have two rambuntious boys.

In five years hubby has come back from a deployment, deployed again and come back again.

In five years I have lived in 3 different states.

In five years I have gone from thinking that I would love being a working woman forever to wondering what it would be like to not have my boys around.

A lot has happened in five years to change my life.

But five years ago when the planes crashed into the World Trade Center I remember exactly what I was doing. I was working at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center as a Radiation Therapist. I remember I didn't have a patient so I was joking around with Gene in the block cutting room helping him out and he had the radio on and they said a plane crashed into the WTC. I figured he was listening to Bob and Shari and they were making some sort of weird joke so I really didn't think anything of it until they kept cutting away to the "real" news. So we ran to the break room and they kept showing it over and over. It wasn't a joke it was real. And then while watching on live tv the second plane hit. I have never been to New York and never seen the buildings in person (and I guess I never will) but my heart fell way down to the floor. People and family and patients started calling us at the hospital. The whole world seemed to know it was all happening. And then a plane hit the Pentagon. I remember seeing and hearing it and then falling to the ground crying and Dr. Bryan kneeling down beside me stroking my head. He knew I knew people who worked there because Darren had worked there.

It wasn't long before my mom called to let me know that she had gotten an email from Darren who was overseas in Bosnia at the time and they all knew about it too. They were told to put on their body armour and to get their weapons loaded because who knew what would happen next. It was the first time in my life I was happy to live in the internet age. Mom and Darren kept in contact letting me and him know each other were ok.

Later that day we found out some good news in the clinic. Karen one of our nurses had a son who was supposed to be on the flight that hit the pentagon. Him and his brand new wife, they were supposed to be on that flight to go on their honeymoon but lucky for him he is always late and they missed the flight. God was looking out for him that day.

I am not one who likes to dwell on the past but it is weird how something like that can make you remember even the smallest details. I can tell you exactly what I was wearing that day and I couldn't tell you without looking in the laundry what I wore yesterday.

So where were you?

One more paint layout.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
These are the Bridges of Madison County in Winterset Iowa. They are the ones from the book and the movies. I was inspired by the graphiti inside and did my own little graphiti thing on the white paint.

Newer layouts that I haven't posted yet.

Just been kind of lazy lately and haven't posted too many layouts here.
