ABCs of ME

Fall has come to South Korea and they have started harvesting all the rice, which means they are stirring up a ton of gunk into the air and it is making my headache.

I took the picture above from under one of the trees out in family housing.  I love bright red the leaves turned already on the little tree.

D. Dogs: Her name was Beaker and she passed away right before we moved over here.  I still miss her even though it has been almost a year and a half now.
E. Essential start to your day: Check my farm and get the kids breakfast.
F. Favorite color: kelly green and dark blues
G. Gold or Silver: I like them both but my wedding band is gold and I would never change it.
H. Height: 5’4
I. Instruments you play(ed): I played the recorder badly in 3rd grade.
J. Job title: Stay at home mom (CEO of the House)

N. Nicknames: Jen, Jenny, is Mom a nickname?
O. Overnight hospital stays: just for the two pregancies
P. Pet peeves: people who don't drive well, people who always have to one up you.

T. Time you wake up: about 6AM, that doesn't always mean I get out of bed but I am normally up at that time.

W. What makes you run late: forgetting something, seems like I am always forgetting something these days!
X. X-Rays you’ve had: teeth and pinky toe (sadly I used to work in x-ray and I've never had anything else x-rayed)

Z. Zoo animal: I love zoos, my favorite animal is the polar bear.  I love watching them swim.

Cub Scout Service Project & Science Day

The Cub Scouts did a service project for our post today.  They met up with Mr Smith from DPW and helped clean up trash for around the family housing area.  Afterwards they got to meet two environmental scientists who talked to them over at the water treatment facility and got to test the pH of our tap water to make sure it was safe for us to drink.  Doing all this they not only helped out the community but also earned part of their Science Belt Loop.

First we had our safety briefing (boring) and got to put on cool blue gloves (much more interesting).

 The Webelos put their arms out and combed the area military style making sure they didn't miss anything!

The Tigers went around and we played the game of "I can find more trash than you", it helped because they were all bored with looking for trash about 5 minutes after we started but when you make a game of it, the fun lasts for hours!!

Evan beat me by 18 points by the way.  I'm not sure how we got points while playing the game but oh well he ended up with a big bag of trash by the end of the morning!

It's pH was purple by the way!  Which in Tiger speak means the cola's pH was 3.

2 Bobcats and a Webelos

We are still alive and kicking.  Getting school started and all the other activities that two boys can get into has taken a toll on my blogging time.

Cub Scouts is in full swing and we are all gearing up for the Fall Family Campout.  That means we needed a new tent since we left the big huge family one back in the states in storage.  So just to check it out and make sure nothing was missing, the boys all set it up in the living room and camped out for the night.

We also had our first pack meeting for the year on the 16th.  Darren wasn't really excited about having to run it and do all the talking but I think he did a great job.  He took over this year as Pack Committee Chair.  Here he is handing all the boys Geocaching patches for those who came out and learned about geocaching with us this summer.

And Ian is a Webelos this year.  He got his colors and is very excited to be closer to being a Boy Scout.

And now we have two Bobcats because Evan earned his Bobcat badge already.  He knows the oath, the motto, the handshake and all that Cub Scout stuff.  And he looks so cute in his uniform!!

Ian's already earned his first two Webelos pins, he got Aquanaut and Readyman this month.

I'll try not to let so much time go between blog posts but seems like these days I can't find a free moment for anything!
