Scrapper's Block

Got a little stuck there for a couple of days and didn't get any layouts done. Bad for the LOAD challenge but I am a winner still because I haven't scrapped this much in a long time and I am really doing a good job of using up both old and new supplies that I have been acumulating here. I finally got over it and cut up a hambly overlay!!!

I did 3 layouts in the last 3 days, here is one of them.

The other 2 I can't share yet because they are using Feburary Sponsor stuff, but maybe I will take a picture or two and give you a sneak peek later on tonight.

The weather ouside is frightful.

And it has really been getting me down lately. I sure can't wait for spring to come. Part of me thinks if at least we had snow to make it seem like winter it wouldn't be so bad but this dreary grey rainy weather is just depressing.

On a positive note though, two brand new episodes of Chuck on tonight. I love that show.

Get a LOAD of this...

I scrapped again today and got another layout done. And it has 7 photos on it and uses up more supplies!!!

Family Picture Time

Yes it is that time of the year again when I get all dolled up and make my family all dress alike. Our favorite color is red so we did red again this year.

And though it was hard since both the boys were really squirmy and didn't want to look at the camera or smile at the same time, I now have a new one of just the two fo them for my wall too. Which is good because they have both changed so much in the last year!!

This is #13.

Because #12 is digital and hidden right now but I did do it. But here is my number 13 for the year. Nothing spectacular but it is fun. I used one of the Fancy Pants transparencys that I HAD to buy!!! I added lots of brads to it. :)

This week's playlist.

Well I signed up for that Wellness Journey with my friend Kim and I got to say so far my journey has been rocky at best.

But I finally think I have gotten myself over the hurdle of getting started and worked out this morning for 24 minutes.

This is what I worked out too, I think I am going to make up a new one for each workout just to keep things interesting.

This week on my iPod...
1. Into the Ocean by Blue October
2. Suddenly I See by KT Tunstall
3. Girlfriend by Avril Lavigne
4. My Humps by Black Eyed Peas
5. Before He Cheats by Carrie Underwood
6. Call Me When You're Sober by Evanescence

Today's workout = 2.25 miles in 24 minutes

9, 10, 11 only 8 behind!!

Well I am not doing so well on the 31 layouts for the month of January am I? But I am only 8 behind so maybe I can catch back up again soon.

Here are some layouts that I did using this month's sponsor's products over at the Scrap Shanty. January we were sponsored by KI Memories and we recieved some really wonderful stuff. I got some gelly circles, some ribbon, lace cardstocks, and patterned paper from Love Elsie Zoe and Pop Culture lines. It was like Christmas in a box.

I got to say I love their stuff but I have such a hard time cutting it up. You know my old habit of wanting to save everything for the perfect layout and not wanting to waste anything. We I did it finally and cut it all up!! Take a look and let me know what you think.

I need to get caught up again. I think I am behind by 8 layouts.

I was tagged!!!!

By Cheri.

Seems the idea here is to answer all the questions and then add one yourself at the bottom, then tag some people. :)

1. Name your 2 favorite scrapbooking topics: my family and our travels

2. What are the 2 best places you've been to? Disney World and college

3. Name 2 things you do every day: check my email and help someone on the potty

4. Tell us 2 things that pretty much everyone knows about you: I have brown hair and I am a mommy

5. 2 places you wish to visit: my friends all over the world (I know that is more than one but I am lumping them all together) and New York City

6. 2 things you may not know about me are: I am a controll freak and I hate dirty kitchens

7. 2 nicknames you've had at some time in your life: Honey and Pumpkin

8. Name 2 of your favorite drinks: ice cold water and diet coke

9. Janet's question: What are 2 interesting (in a good or bad way) jobs you’ve had in your life? I was/am a radiation therapist that was pretty cool. And when I was in college I worked in the mailroom of my dorm delivering mail, THAT was interesting!

10. Cheri's question: Name 2 resolutions you've either already broken or 2 that you've kept so far: So far I haven't started exercising and I haven't given up eating sweats either.

11. Jen's question: If you could be any age you wanted to be what would it be? Mine would be the age I am right now as long as my kids couldn't age either.

And I am going to tag...

Number 6 & 7 and some extras.

I got a kit from The Scrap Room to play with this month as part of my new DT gig at the Scrap Shanty.

They do 4 kits per month and I got one of them that had 3 sheets of patterned paper, 2 sheets of cardstock and a package of doodle flower rub-ons.

Here are the 2 layouts that I did with the kit. I added a lot of my own embellishments which was nice because I have had some of them for a very long time.

Not to be a waster I also made 2 cards with the kit. I had to use those rub-ons someplace.

No layout

I got sick late Saturday night, that stomach bug that the boys all had last week, well it finally hit me and HARD!!!

Finally able to sit upright and type again but I missed Day 6 of the LOAD challenge. Need to start working on Day 7.

Out of the mouths of babes.

I just love the funny things kids say sometimes. This is the perfect example of how my boys think. Evan who is potty training today announces from the backseat of the truck.

"Poop is for pottys and farts are for underwear."

Now back to your regularly scheduled life.

Numbers 4 & 5.

Pretty boring layout, I am thankful that I am done with the Day Out with Thomas pictures (at least until I get to the 2006 ones). But it is done and in the books.

A digital layout for something a little different. Template by Nicole at Sugarplum Paperie, dot paper by Tia Bennett, and everything else by the Shabby Princess. As easy as this was to do I may have to do Evan's first year book digital and then print it all out.

Today's LOAD Challenge LO

Not completely happy with how this turned out (but I did use up some of those weird letter stickers) and I just read through a bunch of the threads on the Big Picture Scrapbooking message board and realized that even though I have done one layout per day because I actually uploaded my Jan 1st LO on Jan 2nd I am not eligible for the grand prize. Not that I would have but man I need to learn to read better.

Oh well, I will still be a winner if I can complete 31 layouts in 31 days right?

**sorry about the flash, I am not near my scanner because the puking wonder is sleeping in that room right now and like heck if I am going to wake him up just to scan something.**

What I think of New Year's Resolutions

I don't make them.

WHY?

Because I never keep them.

Resolve to diet = makes me want to eat.
Resolve to exercise = I will surely rot of the couch for days on end.
Resolve to create XX number of layouts = my mojo will melt away.

So for me I just use New Year's as a fresh beginning. Time to try new things, like exercising (again) and for pulling out everything I have bought over the last couple of months and actually using it on my layouts. Time to play with the kids all the games that they got for Christmas (who ever though Hi Ho Cherrio could go on for HOURS). Time to get back to what makes me happy and simplify life.

So good bye 2007, it was a good year (what I remember of it, thank goodness I take lots of pictures). And hello new year 2008, I am sure my family will have another good one!!

LOAD Challenge at Big Picture Scrapbooking

If you haven't you should check out Big Picture Scrapbooking, they are giving away a free class that is a LayOut A Day challenge (aka LOAD challenge). So if you do one each day in January you would have 31 layouts completed for the year. Sounds like a lot but here is my number 2 layout for the month/year.

Are you all getting tired of seeing Thomas the Tank Engine pictures yet? I got 2 more layouts worth to finish and then I am done with them. :)

First layout of the year.

I can't believe I actually had time to scrap today between watching The Next Iron Chef marathon and napping.

Feb 1, 2018

I'm trying to finish up some of last week's memory planning while I wait to leave to pick Evan up from his Robotics Executive mee...
