3rd Times a Charm

It only took 3 tries to visit the easter bunny this year.
Try #1 = Evan got up the front of the line and Ian went and sat on his lap. As soon as we got Evan with in 3 feet of the 6 foot rabbit Evan burst out into tears. No picture.
Try #2 = After walking out of the mall with a screaming child we get all the way to the car when Evan seeing that big brother has a toy from the Easter bunny. He WANTS that toy. He promises he will sit by a pissed off pit of vipers to get that toy (ok he promised to sit by the 6 foot rabbit by you get the picture). So we walk back into the mall with a little boy all red from screaming his head off but happy as can be because he is going to get a TOY!! We get back in line again and now the boys are thirsty so Daddy runs off to the cookie vendor and gets some drinks and the boys drink and drink and drink and 20 minutes passes and we are at the front of the line when Evan announces that he has to pee. And it is that jumping up and down has to pee. So we get out of line again and go and find a bathroom. No picture with the easter bunny.
Try #3 = I think by this time the girls working the camera and cash register are starting to laugh at my family. We are by the way the only family all dressed up in matching outfits visiting the Easter bunny. So this time we get in line again just as one of those girls is giving the people behind us this sign that they have to hold saying they are the last ones in line. ((THANK GOODNESS WE MADE IT)) So this time we wait another 20 minutes and now the boys are getting hungry but it is my mission to get this stupid picture taken!! I swear that this is the perfect scene for Ben Stiller's next family movie but we get to the front of the line and Evan stands right in front of the 6 foot rabbit and says Hi, turns around and yells CHEESE!! Luckily Evan didn't have the toy yet because we were able to get a couple of different poses to get a good one.
So all in all, Happy Easter to everyone!!! Next year, Daddy is wearing a costume I think!!!

Horton Hears a Who

So we took the boys to see this movie today and they really loved it. I love taking the boys to see movies on "the big TV". We watched an 11:00am show and they loved the idea of getting to eat popcorn and candy and soda pop for lunch. They loved the preview for Wall-E that is coming out this summer and also for Ice Age 3 or 4 with DINOSAURS!! You should have heard Evan yelling about getting to see dinosaurs!!
They both were a little afraid of the bad vulture Vald but really liked the good Vald (the rabbit that daddy convinced them both was related to the easter bunny) who makes cookies in the end.
It was a sweet story and I highly recommend it if you have little kids!! Makes a great spring break break!

More from my last crop...

I made these using Studio Calico's Feb Kits. I don't know if I am liking these layouts yet or not but I know for sure I am so unhappy with self adhesive chipboard letters. I picked up this pile of layouts and 6 different letters fell off 4 different layouts. GRRRR!
So does anyone else have that problem, and what do you do with them to fix it?

I did scrap back before my life went crazy.

I went to another crop with my friend Melanie and I actually got 7 pages done. So far only this one has made it to the scanner.
It is based on a sketch by Stacy at the ScrapShanty. I used it for March's Sketch Challenge. If you want to try to do a layout using it, I am giving away a little RAK if we get enough participation. Just go to www.scrapshanty.com to see more details.

Man I am Tired!!

I was MIA from blogging all last week because I had a really good friend in town to visit me. We had a lot of fun. I took her to the Riverwalk, we saw the Alamo, rode the Riverwalk boat tour, went up to the top of the Tower of America, ate at the Hard Rock Cafe (had the funniest waiter) and then went to a play of Grease. We also saw 1/2 of the Missions, did lots of shopping, saw The Other Boylen Girl and a couple of other movies on DVD that I have been wanting to see. We dragged her into the freezing cold to watch Ian play soccer and had Japanese food!!

It was a great week but between all the running around, Evan not getting a good nap all week and day light savings hitting I am POOPED!!

The Quilt (update)

Well the birthday party was a big hit!! She loved the quilt!!
And didn't my friend make the cutest cake since they are the TURTLE class!!
And here is Evan sitting at Ian's table in kindergarten like a big boy. He so wants to go to school with Ian.

The Quilt

Today is Ian's teacher's birthday and for her birthday some of the moms in the class and I got together and worked to make this quilt for her. We got each of the kids to trace their hands and sign their name on a sheet of paper. Then we transfered them to black fabric and ironed them onto the squares and traced their names onto their square. Then I took some fabric and sewed it all together to make this quilt for her. One of the other moms is making cupcakes for everyone and we are all going to surprise her today at 1:30 at the school. I really hope she likes it.

Go HAWKS!!

Ian started soccer 2 weeks ago and after only 2 practices with his team their first game was March 1st. They played very well. Here are a couple of the cute shots I got of Ian in his cute little uniform. I am so glad I had my zoom lens with me!!

Ian is lucky number 7 too by the way and for being the youngest on his team he is the biggest kid out there!! I took way too many picture for his first game so I will try to edit some more and post them soon.

PS> the tile and carpet is done. it looks GORGEOUS!! no I haven't taken a picture yet but I will soon. only one problem, I shouldn't have been so nice and offered the guy a glass of water. I distracted him and he broke a tile while setting the tack strip for the carpet (that's the last time I am nice I swear). so now they are on the hunt for matching tile for my hallway which we were told when we looked for it last year that it has been discontinued. keep your fingers crossed that they find some.
