This is my entry into a friend's Circle Journal that we are doing at HYWWP. For her theme she found a poem about God's creations and we all were to take one of the creations out of the poem and do a layout about it. I chose flowers.

So weird looking as it is, what do you think? I still can't decide but I hope that she will like it.

I don't know why I got crazy about buttons but I have been seeing them on a lot of layouts again lately. I don't know why cause they are a pain to sew on, I mean REALLY a pain. Now to go tend to my bleeding fingertips. :)

What have I gotten myself into!!

I love to check out the stuff on the Effer Dares blog. Normally I just sit back and lurk very quietly but for some reason yesterday (yes still thinking my body was possessed yesterday) I actually signed up to participate in their Last Scrapper Standing. And I was #2 to sign up. Well as of right now there are 288 people signed up.

What was I thinking!!!???

My layout for my circle journal!

I really don't know how to explain what a circle journal is but in my layman's terms it is basically an album with a theme of your choosing that you send to friends for them to each complete a page in. I don't know who started them, maybe there was a bigger reason for them than just fun originally but I don't know what it is. I know that if you check out any big scrapbooking site or boards you will see tons of them.

Well my theme for my one that I am doing with the gals at
Have Your Way With Paper is "The Soundtrack of Your Life" and here is my layout for in my book. {scroll down if you haven't seen the rest of the CJ and want too}
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
Supplies used...
Bazzill cs, Mandarin Pixie stamps, ink, Basic Grey rub-ons, Quickutz heart die, White Sakura pen

Oh and in the good news catagory for today the owners at Have Your Way With Paper have made me a moderator. I am in charge of the All About Me forum and will be running the challeges over there so be looking forward to lots of AAM layouts to come.

Awesome Poem

It isn't often (ok this is the first time) that my hubby sends me a poem. I thought it was really great. He said that is was on his military news page that he reads everyday and that they had found it on a blog (who's I don't know). But I wanted to share it here because even if you don't agree with the war you have to at least support the men and women who are fighting for people's freedom.

Catching up on some blog challenges.

Kind of fell off the wagon there for some reason -- mainly because week 2 stumped me as to who to ask. I. would tell me about concrete and garbage trucks and E. well he can say truck, milk, ball, down, go & dada (none of which describe me unless we count that I am round like a ball).

So I asked hubby and he got that look that he gets when I start talking about my life on the internet. He told me somethings that were really nice but the 5 words that really stuck out to me were "just because I love you". He says that a lot. :)

So there is my "list" of 5 words that describe me for the ScrapAddict.com blog challenge week 2.

NOW for Week 3, another toughie. This weeks challenge was to list 5 things that brought me joy this week. That is a lot of joy for me to fit into one week. But maybe if I can fudge and say this month, I can maybe come up with 5.

  1. Found out we are most likely going to San Antonio after hubby finishes school. This brought me joy because I was really getting scared that they were planning on sending him to Iraq and that is why they were talking to us.
  2. Hubby bought me a surprise one day, a new Palm LifeDrive. I have been drooling over one for a year now and he got it for me just because.
  3. My truck is all fixed -- new tires, new radiator and cooling system and new ball joint on the driver's side. And after today the AC will be charged back up too.
  4. I got to say I told you so. Hubby got an A in concrete class. He always worries about his grade and then has a little mini breakdown about how he is going to fail and then when it is all said and done he ends up getting an A, just like I told him he would.
  5. Had dinner with friends this past weekend. We don't do that often enough.

Now I don't know how I am going to do a layout about these but I will see what I can come up with. :) Have a great day!

Still have to do my layout but this much is done. :)

This is one of my favorites.

I did this layout for the Scrap Spot DT using our sponsor item Magic Mesh. I always liked this stuff and now I remember why. I love the big thick 6 inch stuff. :)

Here is my favorite layout -- I can't believe how well this one turned out.

Busy week of nothingness!

You would have thought I would have a lot more to show for this week but I really don't. Just been running and running.

I did get my airline tickets for my trip in November and that is pretty exciting but other than that nothing but trying to get a couple of circle journals up and going. Try to get some pictures up later.

For IDOS DT challenge

Our challenge for this month is to use rub-ons (as many as we can) on a layout.

Here is my first one. This is going to be the title page for my vacation album that I made a while back but haven't made any pages for. Maybe now hubby will take me on a real vacation! :)

K&Co monogram rub-ons
lots of ink on the papers

Got some library books today.

I finally figured out how to use the online card catalog and hold books for myself from my public library. I am so excited cause I love to read and now I just wait for an email saying my books are ready and I go pick them up. No more screaming children because we can't stay in the Children's library for 5 more minutes. They can play and I don't have to feel upset cause I didn't get to look around. My books are already waiting for me up front. Woo Hoo!!

What did I get, my first 3 were...
Keepsake Crimes (yes a scrapbooking mystery!!!) by Laura Childs
One for the Money by Janet Evanovich
and
Goodnight Nobody by Jennifer Weiner (one of my favorite authors)

Right now I am reading the scrapbooking mystery, it is too cute in the back of the book there are scrapbooking tips and cajun recipes for all the stuff she talks about in the book. It is a series so hopefully it will be a good one.

Couple of Layouts.

All cookie related of course but we are up to Dec 2004 in my chronological scrapbooking escapades so little E. will be appearing soon in more of my layouts. I don't know why so many cookie layouts but hubby was gone and I was pregnant so there were lots of cookies!! I still have one more to do but here are the first 3.

These pictures were all taken on the same batch of cookies by the way.

I love how this layout looks but I made a mistake. I missed the "put" in the last line of the song. Am I going to fix it -- probably not because I just don't really have the time to redo things. It is done, most people won't notice it and it is done.

What I did yesterday.

I spent the entire day making cards out of my scraps and odds and ends that have been laying on my table. 10 cards in all, which if you know me is really WOW because I don't normally make cards.

Here they are...

Well Lacey is astonding -- she knew EXACTLY what it was!! I didn't even know exactly and I read the sign. LOL!!

OK this one will be harder. I will give you a hint, it is actually a room inside of the areospace engineering department. Great now I probably gave it away. :)

What is it?

I have been playing around with just taking pictures of things just to take pictures and stuff and I have found that I like to take pictures of things that make you think "what is that?"

Here is my first one. Can you guess what it is?

How about I tell you tomorrow. :)

The best thing about going to parades...

I got to tell you the best part about being a mom and taking my kids to a parade is the candy. Take my boys to a parade and I swear people are throwing candy at them cause they are cute. They aren't the little bullies who are pushing everyone else down to get to the candy. Mine stand along the side of the street and wave -- that is it and I swear people see them and take aim!! E. was pegged no less than 3 times and let me tell you blow pops hurt and will leave a mark. So we go to a parade and I never think to take anything to carry all this candy but this is the second parade we have left with a sack full. :)

Fabulous 5 Blog Challenge (week 1)

New blog Challenge for the month of July over at ScrapAddict.com. Each week in the month of July there will be a blog and layout challenge.

Week 1
List your 5 favorite things about yourself. These can be physical or character traits. Anything that you like about yourself.

1. I am strong. I can take care of myself and my boys even when hubby is deployed.
2. I am financially sauvy. I love that I can play the stock market and win. I love that I can get a good deal on things. I love to bargin.
3. My eyes. I don't think that I am beautiful but I really like my eyes, just wish I didn't have to hide them behind glasses.
4. I am smart. Not like I am Einstein or anything but I have good common sense and learn things really quickly.
5. I am really good with my hands.

And here is my layout that goes with this challenge...

What color am I? (Blog Challenge #5)

I would love to say that I am green or pink or red or any of those lovely colors but if I had to think of which color I would actually be I would probably be tan. Yes tan, or maybe we would call it beige or kakhi or light brown. But whatever you actually call it I would be tan.

Why because I am just like tan, boring and can be right in front of you and you don't even see it. Tan is the base that other colors can jump off and that is me. I was never the popular kid but I was always there when one of them needed something. I don't rock the boat or go out on a limb, I am safe and I am plain. I am tan.
