More DD

I got bit by the bug to create those little December Documented pages and made up a couple of more.

First I used one of the pockets from the December Documented collection from Simple Stories to hold Christmas Cards from friends and family from that year.  I put it inside the front cover of my album.  And then I decorated it up with a Santa die cut from Pretty Little Studio.

Here's a closer look at the inside cover.

And then I did layout #2.  This was about taking pictures for our Christmas card on the left side.

And on the right was about leaving our shoes out under the tree for St Nick.

I used one of Pretty Little Studio's tags and cut off the top and then layered it on some black card stock to make it big enough to fill the 3x4 window of the protector.  But it was just a bit boring looking so I decided to make a little window out of brown card stock and then pop dot it up with some snowflakes on it like you are looking in on the kids hanging their stockings.  It turned out just like I wanted it to!  YAY!

I'm calling it DECEMBER DOCUMENTED

not December Daily because you know what -- I can't do anything on a daily basis.  I'm lucky if I remember to take my multivitamin on a daily basis and mostly I do that because the kids remind me.

But I did start work on my 2012 December album and I am really having fun with it.  I am loving the 6x8 size!!  Here's what I got done today.

My Title Page

Layout 1 = Left (Look I stamped, in GOLD no less)

circle numbers source

Layout 1 = Right (I decided to add in some of the non-Christmas stuff we did too)

I'm loving the little letter stickers, they are probably my favorite embellishment, I need to find more of the October Afternoon Mini Market ones (they are my favorite if anyone is looking for a Christmas gift for me).  I also cut some stuff out on my Wishblade (the M and 2012) and I used my old Quickutz dies (the holly).  I am using lots of old papers that I loved so much but couldn't bear to cut into so I just hoarded them (finally giving myself permission to use them with abandon) and lots of old embellishments like the Love Elsie basketball.

In True Overachiever Fashion!

I decided to do not just one December Daily book but do two.  You know because I already have pictures from 2012 so why not make an album for them too!!

Here are my album covers.

Pretty Little Studio sketch

I got some time this morning to scrap and I found a really cute sketch on the Pretty Little Studio blog to use.  I am so happy to be scrapping again and using up all this old stuff that I bought years ago because I really did love it when I got it!

Picture is from 2008, a trip to Landa Park in New Braunfels, TX with Evan to play, have lunch and ride the train.  I used some old Scenic Route and Basic Grey (sadly the papers are probably as old as the pictures).   I also found a use for those little gears that I had to have years ago and they fit perfectly with that geared PP.

Weekend Scrapbooking

We tried to stay home this weekend and while the boys played video games and Darren played in his woodworking shop, I scrapped a little.  Even got to chat with my friend Kim for a little bit and made her play with her supplies too.

Here are the couple of layouts that I got done.

2 Pager that laid on my desk for a month.

So I finally got this layout done.  I started it back in October and then I had to work on Evan's Halloween costume and my sister and family came for a visit and Christmas Attic needed my attention at the boys' school.  Needless to say, this layout got left sitting for a LONG time.  It didn't help that I wasn't really happy with how it was going either.  But I sat down today and got it done so now I can move on and work on something different!

A December Daily

So many years ago, someone named Ali Edwards started up a little thing called December Daily.  It was all about documenting your Christmas traditions and everyday stories leading up to Christmas.  People have been doing this for years and I have sat on the sidelines watching and wanting to do one (drooling over things) and now with Pinterest I keep seeing all these great ideas.  So I decided to do one this year.  I bought a little Snap album by Simple Stories and some of their December Documented pockets and dividers but other than that I'm pulling from my old supplies to make my album.

Here's a pic of my supplies.

Now I'm excited to get started on this and part of me is thinking maybe I should print out pictures from 2012 and try doing it with those pictures first to practice!

Halloween 2013

The boys had their halloween parties at school after the annual halloween parade around the parking lot so that the costumes could be judged.  The boys didn't win anything but I thought they both had great costumes this year.  Ian was Percy Jackson, complete with Medusa's head in his backpack and Evan was Bill Nye the Science Guy.

Evan's third grade class above & Ian's sixth grade class below.

After school, we took a couple of pictures of them alone so I had pictures of their costumes.

After dad got home, we went over to some friends for dinner and trick or treating!  They are from Australia and haven't ever gone trick or treating so it was fun to get to take them out for the first time!
