Spring Break 2011 - Day 3

Well the weather didn't stay nice for the whole weekend.  Sunday was windy and it wanted to rain really bad.  We still got out and threw the football back and forth but we didn't stay outside nearly as long because it was so windy outside.


Here are some extra pictures from yesterday, this gate is in the back of Tommy D's which is one of the "nicer" places to eat on post.  I think it is pretty cool to look at and wanted to get a picture with it in the background.  It is just interesting!

 And then I was taking pictures of the flowering trees.  What kind are they?  I'm not sure, Darren says they are cherry but they look so big for cherry blossoms.  I guess we will find out cause I am sure someone out there in internet land will know what kind of flowers they are.  Plus this coming weekend we are going to a cherry blossom festival up in Seoul so I will get to see some and will be able to say yes honey you were right!

Spring Break 2011 - Day 2

So far the weather has been perfect on our spring break and we took some time out of spring cleaning inside and video game playing to go out and throw the football back and forth.  Ian's getting much better about keeping his eyes open and is finding it makes it much easier to catch that way!!  Both boys also wanted to go over to the school playground and climb for a bit.  They have this great new playground but they get so little time to use it for recess so it is nice that we live close that they can play on it when school is out!

Spring Break 2011 - Day 1

Yeah someone really needs to tell these two that 6:15AM isn't the proper time to get up on the first day of vacation!!  :)  It was a great first day of Spring Break though!

Leave No Trace

Ian's Bear Den for Cub Scouts learned all about Leaving No Trace this week at their den meeting.  They made posters that helped explain the 6 principles of Leave No Trace and then they did a little service project outside the Scout building and picked up litter.  The boys will be displaying their posters in a display at the Earth Day Festival.

Art Show - Evan

Evan has been doing art club on Fridays after school as his after school activity.  He has loved it and is sad that it is over but on April 6th they had an art show to show off the kids' art to the parents!!

He was very proud of his cool robot that he made in one of the final classes!

Signs of Spring

The view from my balcony is starting to show some signs that Spring is here, the Korean farmers are starting to get the fields ready for planting!  That's a good thing because we are ready for winter to be behind us!

My Baby Earned His Bear Badge

The boys started off the morning working on finishing up their father/son cake(s).  That afternoon then we trekked over to the gym for the annual Blue and Gold Banquet.  Ian was really proud his magic trick worked for the Bear skit and was very proud to receive his Bear Badge at the end!!
