Why I Started Scrapbooking.

I wish I could say something like I wanted to chronicle all of our memories for future generations but really and truly I started scrapbook to meet people. I just got married to an ROTC graduate and moved away from my home state of IOWA. I didn't know anyone and didn't have a clue as to how to meet anyone. So when my next door neighbor invited me to a Creative Memories party I jumped on it. I didn't even know what Creative Memories was -- I thought it was something like Home Interiors or something. Well I walked away from the party meeting lots of my neighbors, making new friends and about $200 worth of Creative Memories stuff. I was hooked (and the consultant became my very good friend -- how could she not I single handedly kept her in business).

Ten years later and I have really changed from the girl who cuts up her pictures with deco scissors and plasters stickers randomly around the page. But I am so glad that Jodi invited me to that party. I found something that I had been missing in my life up to that point -- a creative outlet!

And heck I am chronicling our life now! :)

Some new layouts

Just a couple that I did for our DT challenge at I Dream of Scrapping. Our challenge was to use larger than life items.


Used some large flowers and cut my name out with my wishblade (font is Dream Orphans). Also used my Heidi Swapp fuzzy rub-ons (the paisleys) and the fuzzy iron-ons ('i am').


For this one I used a very large photo of little E. This is his first time ever standing in the crib and it was just too cute that he also had on superman jammies. I also cut the superman logo out with my wishblade.

I hate writing about myself.

Isn't it the worst when someone gives you the assignment to just write up a couple of things about yourself.

Where do I start and where do I stop... what do people really want to know about ME.

I have been putting off making up my little introduction for the DT page and can't do it any longer. I have to get it down. So that is what I am going to do today.

PInch Hitter

Well I have great news. I was chosen to be one of the Pinch Hitter Design Team members at Have Your Way With Paper. Every 3 months they give the Design Team a month off and we take over getting all the goodies and stuff that they would normally have to use.

I am so excited, I only applyed because a friend told me to try and Thank You LadyBug!! :) It will be great to work together. I start in May and they are doing a bunch of really cool things since it is Scrapbooking Month and all.

the Snow

Well I did take some pictures of the snow from the warmth of my bedroom. Poor Dhubby went out and started to shovel the drive at about 7 am and by the time he got to the end of it there was another 1 inch covering the drive. He just didn't want to wait cause he didn't know when it was going to stop and didn't want to lift more than he had to at one time. I guess I don't blame him for that.

Never a dull moment

I have so many pictures of the boys that I haven't unloaded off my camera and shared that I need to do that today.

Well here are a couple to get started.

And now for my proud mommy moment. Today while I was in the shower I. had to go potty so he went all by himself (without me having to see it afterwards) and then went and got himself dressed too.



I had to take a picture cause he was just so proud of himself for picking out everything all by himself and then getting it all on without me.

I just don't have the heart to change him right now he is so proud but his shirt, pants and underwear are on backwards and his socks are inside out. :) Oh well he is 3 not a rock scientist.

Since it was her birthday yesterday day I thought I would give her a little present by saying Happy Birthday on my blog and also if you want to find out how many posts you have just click on the blogger thingy at the top of the page and it will take you to your dashboard. It should be listed there how many posts you have.

I am sure she has more than 30 posts by the way because she is one of the funniest people and if you have had a chance to read her blog you should. I highly recommend the post about underoos. :)

Cyber Crop

We are having a cyber crop at I Dream of Scrapping this weekend. To all my scrappy friends -- you are needing some inspiration to get some layouts done, I would check it out!

Will run tonight thru probably Monday to get everything posted!

The 100th Post

Just wanted to let you know I hit 100 posts!
If this were a sitcom or something we would make a big cake with Random Thoughts on it and then eat it.

HMMMM.. maybe that is as good a reason as any to eat cake!

I am back

Well the baby shower is over! I didn't forget anything!! And it was a great turn out!!!

She was surprised until I pulled up out front of the building and one of her friends was just walking in. :( Oh well at least it was a surprise until then. She got tons of great stuff and everyone LOVED my idea of making the personalized onesies, burp cloths and bibs. After everyone was done with them I had strung a clothesline across the room and put lots of clothes pins up and they all got to hang their creations up for everyone to see. It was so much fun and she has lots of talented friends and family!

Well now to do laundry and put everything away until next weekend when we head off to the inlaws!
