Spring Break 2013

We took the boys to Philadelphia this year for Spring Break.  I feel like I didn't take many pictures but I know I had a great time hanging out with the boys and Darren.  Monday we did the Duck Ride tour of downtown.  The boys favorite part was splashing into the river!  After the tour we walked around downtown and found the Reading Market Terminal and Chinatown.  Tuesday we spent the whole day from open to close at the Franklin Institute.  Best science museum I have been to!!  We saw 2 different shows in the planetarium and Evan lost his tooth during lunch!  Wednesday we headed back downtown and toured Independence Hall and saw the Liberty Bell.  Afterwards we found Pat's King of Steaks and Geno's Steakhouse and tried philly cheesesteaks from both of them!  We think Pat's is the best!  After that we went to the King of Prussia Mall to walk around and let the kids spend their money at Toys R Us.

Here are a few shots from our trip!!

General Patton

Ian's class put on a wax museum for the rest of the school and parents came too. He had to read a biography of someone he was interested in and then dress up as that person and have a little prepared speech to give when he was "turned on" at the wax museum. All Mrs Yakir's class did great but I was really proud of Ian and how good he looked as General Patton!

Out like a LION...

March was beautiful here when it started.  We had 60 degree days and my jacket was safely hung in the closet for the year.  But we've had to dig out the hats and mittens and coats again because this is what we woke to this morning.

At least we got a 2 hour delay from school and the kids got to wake up and enjoy some playtime in the snow since we actually got some.

Evan starts to swim

After watching Evan swim in the pools over Christmas break we decided we needed to start him on swimming lessons again so he can learn how to breathe better so he can get faster. Well today Evan started swimming lessons at our health club!

Zoo photos

Went to the zoo with a friend with our big old cameras in tow to take some pictures!

And now that I was there with my big 70-200mm lens I understand why all those people where there the day before with big 400mm lens.  I didn't think I needed on until after I was there and didn't have one!!

First Reconciliation

Evan and the other kids in his second grade class made their first reconciliation today at St Anthony's. Evan was so excited and ran to the front to be first!

I asked him if he was ready and he told me he had a list!! I asked him what was on it (because holy cow -- a list?!) and he told me he couldn't tell me because I wasn't a priest!

Playing with my video camera

I almost always have my camera with me but I rarely use my video camera.  With Ian playing his last basketball game of his first season, I really wanted to take it with me and try to get some video of him playing so we would have it to remember forever.  So here is my iMovie video of Ian playing basketball.

Gotta Love This Winter

Another one of those days where really all you need a heavy sweatshirt and we decided to go out and ride our bikes!

Hopefully all the rain we've been getting means we'll have a pretty spring!!

My BOY SCOUT

Well my big boy has gotten his Arrow of Light and he doesn't want to wait anymore so yesterday I switched all his patches on his uniform and he went to his first BOY SCOUT meeting as a BOY SCOUT!  I can't believe how excited he was and I guess he sat with the senior patrol leader with his book and got his to sign off a bunch of stuff to get his SCOUT rank and he has his first Board of Review next Tuesday!

Can you believe he is almost as tall as me already!!!
