I have been scrapping (slowly).

I am still behind for my goal of two layouts a week because these are layouts 10 - 13 and this is what week 11 or 12 of the year?  But I am scrapping slowly but surely using up some of these old kits that I have laying around.

I need to break out the computer and look and see what dates these pictures were taken on and journal that on these but other than that they are done.

The Post with the Airplane

One of Ian's cub scout electives was to learn about airplanes and to make and fly a model airplane.  So boys being boys they took it outside and played with it on a beautiful Sunday afternoon!
See all the "boys" got into the act of playing with the airplane.  At one point Darren had 6-8 boys all around him trying to get their turn to fly the airplane so to scare them all off Darren started telling them all about how the plane gets lift and talking about the science of how an airplane flies!  That got rid of all but Ian and him and they were able to play!

Evan Goes Bowling

Evan's little friend (who is a girl) Sofia had a birthday party at the bowling alley this past weekend.  Evan knew she wanted to have a princess party and that everyone was supposed to dress up so he wore his "fancy" clothes!  The kids had a great time bowling and using the wood floors as their own personal dance floor between bowling.  :)

Flat Stanley Comes to Korea

Ian's teacher from last year sent one of the Flat Stanley's to visit us over here in South Korea.  We took him around with us for a week and took some pictures and before we sent him back to sunny warm Texas Ian drew him up a set of Hanbok clothing to wear for the trip home.

Layout #9

I was in charge of the challenge this week at Paper Pushers so I made up another recipe challenge.  It involved...
1) fussy cutting something - I did butterflies
2) popping something with pop dots or extra chipboard
3) a big title
4) something metal

I used the 2008 Looking Glass kit from Studio Calico with my Quickutz Chemistry dies for the title and a little Making Memories metal backpack from a long long time ago!

Pink Pancake Valentines

Happy Valentine's Day everyone!  My mom and dad sent the boys a care package with some pink chocolate chip pancake mix for Valentine's Day so we made them for our Valentine's dinner!  They were really yummy, the boys love having pancakes for dinner!

Sick Kiddo

Got one staying home today because he is running a fever.  I guess we could say this is Evan's first sick day.  He isn't feeling bad but he has a fever of 101.  I gave him some children's Tylenol and I'll take him over to the clinic to be seen this afternoon.  I hate to be that parent who takes their kid in for something minor but at the same time since we don't have a great hospital here I really don't want to have to take him to the Korean ER if it gets worse over the weekend when our tiny clinic is closed.  I'm sure he'll be fine, just have to keep him and Darren apart for a while until they are both stronger.

I haven't been scrapping much over this past week, I've been sewing instead.  I am helping out a unit here make baby blankets and welcome quilts.  It is fun and I like the work.  It keeps me busy and that is helpful right now.  I went to Happy Quilts with some friends yesterday to look for Americana type fabrics for their welcome quilts and had tons of fun!  Gwen took pictures, I should have because I love that place!  Next time I go I will bring my camera.

Here is a layout that I did do using Kim's Use Your Tool Challenge at Paper Pushers last Friday.  We were supposed to use our most recently purchased tool.  Since I didn't know what that was I used the Real Estate punch from EK Success and the Pumpkin stamp from Studio Calico.  This is layout #7 for me for the year.  Not doing so great getting two done a week.  I need to work on that!  I signed up for Big Picture Classes class Embrace Imperfection.  That's something I need to learn to do and I am hoping it will help!  It's a free class that just started yesterday so sign up if you are looking for some push to scrap!!
Other things that have been taking up my time...  I finished a baby quilt for a friend who had a little girl on Jan 25th.  She is so little and so pretty.  It has been a long time since I have been around a little baby.  Here are some pics of the quilt I made for her.

Pinewood Derby 2011

We had our pack pinewood derby on Jan 29th (but I am just getting the pictures off my camera today).  We had a lot of fun, Ian was really proud of his surf board car, he called it Surf's Up!  He wanted to make one like that after getting smoked at our pack's pinewood derby last year and his car didn't disappoint, Ian ended up taking home first place in the pack.  Never seen him more proud of himself.  I was glad Darren was able to be there and see it!
Now to start thinking about next year cause I guess we'll have two cars in the races!  I can hear the fighting starting now!

I'm trying to finish up some of last week's memory planning while I wait to leave to pick Evan up from his Robotics Executive mee...
