The boys participated in the Painted Door Thrift Shop Fashion Show today to help them with their spring sale! They had a blast with their friends other Cub Scouts and Girl Scouts showing off the outfits they picked out from the racks.

50 miles and a lost tooth
Evan lost another tooth today. I think that is number 3 for him if I am correctly counting. The other top one if loose but still not ready to come out! (which is good because the tooth fairy is running low on golden dollars)
Evan also passed the 50 mile mark in the Camp Humphreys Running Club last Thursday and was awarded his team shirt. He was so proud, he wants to wear his shirt to bed!!

100th Day of School
So the kids have been going to school this year for 100 days. And that is always something to celebrate so today Evan took some books we had to read about the 100th day of school and also helped me make this t-shirt to wear with 100 dots on it!

Happy Valentines Day
The boys and I made these really cute Valentine's Day cards for all the kids in their class. I found the template on the Inchmark blog. We printed them out, the boys decorated them and then we stuck some mini candy bars on the inside. ((can you believe on the day before Valentine's day the PX was out of Valentine's candy?? Crazy right?!?!)) I think they turned out really cute and I hope their friends and teachers like them.
Ian's Awards Ceremony
Ian's school had their first semester 4th/5th grade honor ceremony on Feb 10th. I was very proud of my Ian, he made Principal's honor roll for first quarter and A/B honor roll for second quarter. He was also selected to receive his class's Citizenship award for first quarter!

Feb 1
I only did 7 layouts in January and I really wanted to do more. I know that there are a lot of people out there who are doing the LOAD for February and paying for it but I really don't need any prizes or product, I have plenty of that. I just need the motivation to get scrapping again. So I am working on doing a layout a day and posting them here on my blog.
Here is my layout for Feb 1st.
It isn't fancy and it went together quick but that is what it is all about. Layout is based on this week's sketch challenge at Studio Calico.

2012 Pinewood Derby
The boys' Pack had their Pinewood Derby on Jan 28th. Ian's car is red with black racing strips and Evan's car is blue with a shark bite taken out of it.
Both cars were fast! Very fast!
Both of the boys ended up getting first place in their dens and went on to the finals.
And over all in the Pack they got second and third place! Not to shabby for the McWhirt boys!

Getting my layouts photographed.
OK so I still need to put dates on these all but at least they are scrapped that's better than just sitting in a pile of pictures right??

A Scrappy New Year
One thing that I want to do in 2012 is get back to scrapbooking again and sharing my work. In 2011, I think I scrapped a total of 10 pages. I love the idea of this Project Life but I don't know how much or if I am ready to switch gears.
I got a pile of layouts done since the New Year, okay I got like 6 done but still it is a start! Here is one using an older Studio Calico kit scraps and a picture of Ian and his friend Brianne sitting in the cockpit of a plane at the air show at Randolph AFB. I still need to look up the date again and put it on the layout but it felt good to play with my paper and glue again.
