Today is Thursday

I scrapped today. Have Your Way With Paper was having some Thursday Online Challenges and I did this one for the stripes challenge. It felt good to scrap. I used up some super old GinX PP and chipboard. You know a scrapbooking paper is old when the company isn't even in business anymore. The picture is Evan when he was 2 after he fell in the snow.Supplies:
GinX PP and Chipboard Arrow
Queen and Co brads
Hobby Lobby Snowflake Sequins
MM Tiny Alphabet stickers
Martha Stewart Punch
Jenni Bowlin journaling block
Quickutz Diesel Grand alphabet dies

Today we didn't do too much, we went to the gym and I worked out while the kids played and then we went to the pool with friends and had lots of fun and the kids decided that we should go to Chuy's for dinner. I couldn't argue with having Mexican so we went for an early dinner after the pool. Here are the boys happy after eating lots of chips and dip and eating their push pops for dessert!

We were invited by our friends the Bakers to come play at their neighborhood pool today.

We swam, we ate lunch, and we swam some more.

First Round of Vacation Pictures

We took the boys to Houston for a quick weekend away and we had a blast.

We started at the Houston Children's Museum and here are some pictures of the boys in action!
Ian climbs a wall (I was pretty impressed with him)

Evan pretending to be a newscaster (or Richard Nixon).

In the art center, Ian draws a ship.

Such concentration while drawing.

I don't know why Evan seems to think he either needs to make peace signs or silly faces when I point the camera at him.
Photobucket
Pictures from outside in the water works area.
Photobucket
If it hadn't been so hot we probably would have spent all day out here because the boys loved the water exhibits.

Evan building islands in the stream.

Underwater tornados.

After the museum we went down south of Houston to the mall and where our hotel was. We promised the kids if they did some chores this summer and saved their money we could go to the Lego Store.
We saw BATMAN at GameStop in the mall trying to get attention for his new video game. But he was happy to get his picture taken with some batfans of the Lego Batman game.
Photobucket
Then we made it to the Lego Store. The boys decided to pool their money to get ONE BIG set instead of little ones. They got a Star Wars Endor playset with lots of guys. Plus mommy and daddy also let them each make their own guys too. That's what they are doing here, making 3 custom guys.

Once we got back to the hotel, we used the theater room and watched Iron Man on the huge tv with the great surround sound system and awesome recliners. The boys loved that!

And eventually we made it back upstairs to play with the Legos.

And we got in some good swimming time but then we had to leave the pool because it started to lightning and we were more than happy to see some rain.

The Boys Meet Hannah Montana in the Wild Wild West

We got some tickets from some friends to go to the Wild West Festival at Enchanted Springs Ranch. The festival benefits therapeutic riding programs for the disabled in the area. It was a beautiful drive getting there and it was really a picture right out of the wild west when we walked in the gates.

The first thing we did once we got in was went to see Hannah Montana. She was a great impersonator and the boys really got a kick out of it. So many of the cute little kids thought she was the real deal and were telling her at the end that they loved watching her on TV. The boys danced with her during the Ice Cream Freeze song and then lined up for a picture with her.

I will work on getting some video inserted here of them dancing soon.

Now I love cows and these steer were so sweet and gentle and the boys got to ride them. The one they are on is named Bingo and the other all tan one was named Tator Tot. I loved their names and the cowboy with them was such a nice guy to talk to.

After checking out some other little buildings and hitting the petting zoo and dunking booth (where both boys really wanted to be the dunkee and not the one outside just throwing the ball) we got some snow cones and went in and listened to the band play while we cooled off.
Photobucket

It was a lot of fun and I am really glad that we went. The weather was even nice enough enough to stay under 100 degrees until after we left!!

As Seen on the Discovery Channel

One of my favorite places to eat is Wing Stop and so do the boys but you know what it is like watching bears eat on TV... well eating wings with my boys is kind of like watching the Discover Channel.

Here is the evidence. (wish that one was in focus but that is what you get when you try to take pictures of bears while eating ROFL)

Wouldn't Ian make a good poster boy for Wing Stop and then they could give us free wings!!

Sharkboy and Lobsterman

I found these fun towels at Joann Fabrics for 50% off. Not a bad deal since I had gone in to buy material to make some for the kids. Way cheaper and much less time spent.

The one where everyone was staring into the sun.

We went with our friends the Bakers to the free movies this morning to see Veggie Tales: The Pirates Who Don't Do Anything. We have it on DVD but I thought it would be fun for the boys to see it on the big screen and of course they thought it was great and giggled through the whole thing.

Here we are after our fun!!

Late night for us.

We stayed up to watch the fireworks. We all slept in good on Sunday morning.

My attempt at trying to take pictures of fireworks. I don't know why I try every year to do it.
