Junie B Jones and a Little Monkey Business

The second part of our day was spent at the Magic Theater which is a little children's theater.  They were playing Junie B Jones and a Little Monkey Business.  I wasn't sure what I was expecting but I know I was pleasantly surprised.  The play was super cute and the boys loved it!  We may be going to more plays in the future!

We had a busy day planned today.  First we took the boys downtown to see the cattle drive down Houston Street to the Alamo.

Let me tell you all how handy the iPhone is for entertaining children in the cold during a long wait!!  It was cute watching them watch YouTube videos and giggle!!!

Here come the cowboys and the long horn steer.  Those orange snow fences wouldn't really stop one of those big steers from coming right at us if they decided to stampede.  Darren and I both took pictures/video with one hand on the camera and one had on a child in case we needed to pull them to safety.

Cowboy Breakfast

We took Evan to the Cowboy Breakfast to get some free breakfast and check out all the festivities there to kick off the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo season.  ((don't feel bad for Ian for not getting to go since he had school he was excited because we dropped him off early at school so he could buy himself breakfast there))

Here is Evan, Darren and a REAL cowboy!!  He was nice enough to get Evan some milk to drink with his breakfast tacos.  He was such a nice guy.

And here is Evan eating his breakfast taco.  What big hands you say???  Well it was very cold outside for Texas standards and Evan has his hands inside his jacket so Daddy is "helping" him eat his breakfast.

It was really good but I remember now that I don't really like tamales.

More random layouts.

This is one of those completely random layouts. I remember taking these pictures with my self timer on my camera but I have no idea why I did it. I don't normally get in the pictures with my kids. I wonder if they had been for a challenge somewhere. Oh well I am glad I have them.

This layout is based on a layout of scrpnmama from the scrapshanty.

The journaling says "Evan at the miniature golf course in St Joe MO. We went golfing with Darren's family and 18 holes was a little too much for him. About 5 minutes later, he was asleep on Grandpa's shoulder."

Another random layout.

This layout was done for Kim's Order Up challenge over at the ScrapShanty.  This is one of my favorite challenges to do because it makes me mix things up that I normally wouldn't do.  For this challenge I had to 

1) make my own patterned paper

2) use rub-ons

3) use buttons

4) handwrite my own journaling

So there it is, I made my PP by stamping circles on white paper and then added a punched star.

Color Combo #106

My latest layout for the Color Combos Galore challenges.  #106 was to use chocolate brown, white, pumpkin orange and blue.

I wasn't sure if I should do this layout for my books because I already did a layout just like it for Ian's preschool album but I decided in the end to make one more for my family albums.

On birthday layouts that is. Here is one of Ian from his fourth birthday. That was the year Cars came out and his birthday was all about Cars. We had Cars birthday cake from Dairy Queen and went to see the Cars movie and he got Cars clothes and toys. Orock Orama

Today history was made, my kids wanted to watch the news.  Today Ian was all questions about why President Bush had to retire and what color his house would be next.  My lack of sleeping during my high school government classes has finally paid off today as I told him stories about how our government works (or should work in my opinion).

Many memories of today....

1. Evan can't say Barack Obama - he calls him Orock Orama and when you try to tell him otherwise he either says no I am right or calls him Arock Brama.  Well at least he can say president.

2. My kids fought in the back seat of the truck tonight over who got to be president.  Yes they both want to pretend to be Barack Obama, sorry Joe Bidden.

3. Ian wanted to know why Barack and President Bush couldn't just live together, the White House is really big.

4. Ian is all excited because there is someone almost his age in the White House.

5. Ian now wants to be president when he grows up and his little brother is going to be his vice president.  We haven't had brothers in office together.  Maybe my little guys will make their own history someday!!  :)  ((and then can I stay in the White House with them?))
