Practice for Camping

This morning we ventured out to the Bass Pro Shop just to get out of the house. The boys now want one of these. Heck if we had the room and place to ride it, I would like one too. Maybe even more than I ever wanted a pony!! At the Bass Pro Shop we bought some fun stuff to try out on our new camp stove that we got for a steal at the going out of business sale at Sportman's Warehouse. Have you ever heard of Skookies? Skookies are brownies and cookies and other assorted yummy things made in little tiny cast iron skillets. Skillet + Cookie = Skookie

We had looked up the recipes orginally thinking we would just make them in our own cast iron skillets but at Bass Pro Shop this week they had them on sale so we got the brownie one. Here is Darren and his grill that he wanted!!

This isn't a meat patty in a skillet but a brownie made on the grill. ((ok so the directions actually say to make them in the oven but we got it to work on the grill wonderfully!!))

And with a couple of scoops of ice cream on top this is a really good evening treat. Both the boys have already asked if we could make these again tomorrow night. We shall see, maybe we will try the cookie recipe!! :)
